Duties

1. People - Training and development of all Store managers in area / constant evluation in daily store operations / Scheduling of staff / Leave approvals / Managers appraisals / Maternaty Leave approvals /

2. Place - Location of current stores - recommend new location depending on capix / store saftey and security / Ensure layout of store is to negate stockloss / 

3. Performance - Turn over Vs Shrinkage / Average Basket values / New Accounts / Staffing costs % of Turn over [ EBITDA ] / Property Lease negotiations with LandLords / Trading density in all stores in Kzn1 / Setting of Targets and Budgets - control of budgets not exceeded / Poor Performance counselling / Performance Accolades

4.Work with marketing / buyers and develope sales strategies and intiatives for the year ahead including important calender dates [ Black Friday / December period / Easter Period / June School Hollidays / Back to School ] - Keep abreast of competitors pricing and marketing campaigns, to retain and increase market share.

5.Lead Motivate Develope from all stores.

Tasks and Responsibilities Sales - Ensure that all floor staff know and understand that their main task is to sell. This is achieved by : Properly Training New Staff Setting, communicating and Monitoring individual sale targets Managing poor sales performance Re-enforcing the importance of sales during daily morning talks - Ensure that all sales staff members provide friendly, helpful and enthusiastic customer service always. Make sure that sales staff attends to customers Mentor them in terms of selling and providing a service Address attitudinal problems / problems with approach towards customers Assist customers - Ensure that floor personnel record feedback from customers – and I resolve any customer complaints. - Assist sales staff to close multi-sales. - Communicate with customers and following up on enquiries and problems regarding delivery of effective assistance and/or after sales - Product Knowledge - Provide continually product knowledge to sales staff - Training sessions with sales staff - Keep abreast of current trends in technology and my competitors pricing. Stock Management - Ensure that my store has the correct stock and correct quantities by : Completing and submitting, with area manager my top sellers, bottom sellers together with “bread and butter line” reports I am responsible for the “fill ins” of my top sellers for my store I further follow up with my stock department regarding the time of arrival of my top sellers I do expedite the relocations of my bottom sellers I make sure that the stock is correctly merchandised, to ensure that sales are not negatively impacted by incorrect/ineffective merchandising - Ensure that the correct processes are implemented and adhered to for - Receiving stock - Merchandising stock - Dispatching stock Stock Control - Head Counts done daily – submitting findings to risk department - Ensure that full stocktakes are done at least every three months according to my S.O.P Merchandising - Draw a headcount report/merchandise accordingly - Merchandising to sell implemented at my store - Manage and control the daily merchandising tasks Marketing/Competitor promotions - I do keep abreast of the monthly activities of my surround competitors - I do communicate with my marketing regarding all marketing matters and or ideas - Develop and expand a data base of clients with regards to my store and my brand - Continually research marketing opportunities that will enhance my store reputation with the public Performance and Discipline - Ensure that my new employees are inducted correctly and that procedure and policy are met and understood - Monitor staff performance motivate and manage poor performance - I identify the educational needs of staff that lack product knowledge and sales skills by facilitating staff training where appropriate - Monitor and manage staff in terms of : Sales targets / Customer Service / merchandising /neatness of store / stock losses / relocations Staff Administration and Communication - Keep the admin of staff up-to-date and submit all documentation as required, including : Hours Worked / Overtime / Leave / Sick Leave / Disciplinary actions / Salaries / Bonuses, increases and commissions Recruitment of Staff _ - Appoint casuals / assist H.R in the identification and recruitment of suitably prospective employees
