- Team Leader: Pensioners Payroll lead and manage a team of Pension Payroll Administrators to ensure the accurate, compliant and timely administration of monthly pension payrolls and pension-related payments for all company-administered retirement funds.
- Responsible for coordinating and administering pensioner payroll activities to ensure the accurate, compliant and timely processing of monthly pension payrolls and related benefits across all company-administered retirement funds.
- The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert for pension payroll administration, ensuring adherence to fund rules, legislative requirements, operational procedures and service level standards.
Pensioners Payroll Administration
- Process and coordinate monthly pension payroll activities.
- Ensure the accurate and timely payment of pension benefits.
- Review pension payroll transactions for accuracy and completeness prior to submission for approval.
- Process pension increases, benefit adjustments, reinstatements, suspensions and terminations
- Perform payroll validations and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with SARS payroll requirements and applicable legislation.
- Assist with pension payroll year-end activities
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Perform quality checks on pension payroll outputs and supporting documentation.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and exceptions.
- Ensure compliance with the Pension Funds Act, Income Tax Act, fund rules and internal policies.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Maintain accurate records and audit trails.
Operational Support and Coordination
- Provide technical guidance and support to Pension Payroll Administrators.
- Monitor workflow and assist in allocating and prioritising work within the team where required.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex pension payroll queries.
- Support the Payroll Manager in implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Reporting and Stakeholder Management
- Prepare pension payroll, reconciliation and exception reports.
- Liaise with pensioners, beneficiaries, trustees, SARS, financial institutions and internal stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve pension payroll-related enquiries within agreed service levels.
