Cattle Farmer / Livestock Manager – Job Specification
- Manage daily operations for a herd of 800 cattle.

- Assist with breeding programs and herd development.

Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience working with large cattle herds (preferably 500+ head).
- Practical experience in livestock management, feeding systems, and herd health.
- Knowledge of breeding cycles, calving, weaning, and general herd development.
- Experience administering vaccinations, medications, and basic veterinary treatments.
- Previous farm or ranch experience required; livestock certifications are an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Ability to monitor cattle health, detect illnesses early, and take corrective action.
- Skilled in operating feeding machinery, cattle handling equipment, and farm vehicles.
- Ability to maintain accurate herd records, treatment logs, and movement registers.
- Understanding of nutrition programs, grazing patterns, and feed rationing.
- Knowledge of livestock welfare standards and farm safety procedures.
Physical & Operational Requirements
- Ability to work long hours and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working in outdoor, rural, or remote environments.
- Able to respond to cattle emergencies, including after-hours when required.
- Capable of working with cattle in pens, crushes, and open-field environments.
