REPORTING TO THE NATIONAL SALES MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE:
To achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration through managing the sales team in his/her area of authority. To analyse sales trends for the area and recommend/implement strategies to grow the business.
JOB FUNCTION:
Analyse historical sales trends and forecast
Re-activate lost business by engaging with Sales Managers and monitor accordingly
Ensure that existing contract extensions, amendments and price escalations are negotiated, submitted, followed-up and implemented timeously
Negotiate new long term supply contracts as and when required
Existing business is retained at agreed percentage and market share is increased by obtaining new business
Departmental sales performance is monitored and managed
Monthly/annual sales budget is set/met, area sales strategy and targets are set/managed
Improvement areas are identified, and strategies implemented for added value opportunities
Immediate action is taken on non-compliance issues
Customer information is captured on system as it is received, and customer contact lists are maintained/updated
All expenditures are managed as per company policy
Quotations are completed as and when required, sign off of quotes and tenders within limit of authority
Market research is conducted in designated areas and presentations are delivered to customer as required
Marketing events and activities are arranged as per Strategy
Manpower capabilities for the department are planned, selected/developed, company HR and Disciplinary policy is adhered to
Team performance is monitored/managed where necessary, sales force KRA’s are managed
Technical direction is provided as required, objectives and targets are reviewed against standards
