The purpose of this position is to perform tasks associated with moving product from one place to another. Using a reach truck, forklift, Bendi or hand pallet jack, collect the product, one pallet at a time, from staging area, and place in the designated storage space Ensure that the following details are on the pallet label – slot id, product name, batch /code date, quantity. Once all products have been stored in the designated storage spaces, check that all details on the put away sheet are complete. Sign the Replenishment Report and hand it to the inventory controller. The following storage practices should be followed: Chemicals should be segregated. Pallets should be aligned with beams, ensure no pallets should be titling, ensure all reserve pallets are wrapped. Perform routine maintenance on forklifts which include recharging batteries and cleaning. Complete an incident report for any incident or damage to product, racking or equipment Report any faulty equipment, damage to racks and any other safety hazards to supervisor. Perform routine maintenance on Reach Truck which include recharging batteries and cleaning. Complete an incident report for any incident or damage to product, racking or equipment. Follow safe working procedures for operating a Reach Truck. Follow safe working procedures for charging a battery. Adhere to the Occupational heath and safety act to ensure that the Reach Truck is operated in a safe and orderly manner May need to check product and do product counts when required. Complete other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager Maintenance and check equipment 0% Perform routine pre and post inspections on the forklift equipment to ensure forklift equipment is operating well. Compliance with company procedures and health and safety Follow safe working procedures for operating a forklift and safe working procedures for charging a battery. Comply with good management practices of the company. Minimum requirements Must have a matric Must have a valid license and be certified to operate a Reach Truck Computer literacy – advantageous Must have 2-3 years Warehouse Experience
