Main Purpose of the Job:
- This role is responsible for the strategic and operational management of designated product categories, including developing and executing product strategies, driving the 4P’s (product, price, promotion and place), and implementing go-to-market plans.
- It oversees forecasting and PSI management, supplier relationship management, promotion planning, pricing, and e-commerce activities, while ensuring accurate data reporting (including sell-out and company data).
- The role works closely with Sales, Finance, and Warehouse and support teams to manage stock, claims, queries, and pricing processes, and is accountable for overall category performance, supplier engagement, and product department delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
Product & Category Management
- Developing and managing identified product lines including planning a strategy and implementing successful tactical activities.
- Forecasting and supply chain management for the chosen product categories (PSI Management).
- Promotion management with suppliers for retailer channel.
- Managing the supplier interface for responsible categories for company .
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
- Driving the product lines for which you are responsible – 4p’s – product, price, promotion and place.
- Developing and implementing a go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
- Analysing potential partner relationships for the product.
- Work with the Sales Team to implement strategy.
- Weekly reporting on all category activities.
- Work with support departments to manage queries and claims (Cores Support, Supplier
- Claims. Dealer Claims, Stock Variances).
- Work with The Warehouse team on support and participate in stock take of their categories.
E-Commerce
- Develop and execute the e-commerce strategy aligned to overall business objectives.
- Manage pricing strategy, online promotions, and campaign performance.
- Monitor performance and implement corrective action where required.
Additional Responsibilities
- Responsible for all data requirements for the business, such as Sell-Out and company.
- Responsible for pricing uploads onto the system.
- Responsible for ensuring all pricing, are handed in on time to Finance.
- Responsible for the Product Department.
- Responsible for handling all claims and cores timeously.
