We are seeking a motivated and results-driven External Sales Representative to join our team in the kitchen equipment industry. The role involves managing existing client accounts, generating new business opportunities, preparing quotations using Sage (training can be provided), and actively canvassing new clients. The ideal candidate will have strong sales skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and service levels are exceeded.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, canvassing, and networking.
  • Prepare accurate and professional quotations using Sage (training provided if required).
  • Visit clients on-site to present products, provide demonstrations, and offer solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Follow up on leads, quotes, and opportunities to secure orders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including technical and operations staff, to ensure smooth delivery and installation of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM system.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding client requirements, market trends, and product development.

Key Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in external sales, preferably in kitchen equipment, catering, or related industries.
  • Proven experience in cold calling, canvassing, and managing client accounts.
  • Proficiency in Sage accounting or quotation software is advantageous; training can be provided.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a sales territory effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
